Let me just say, there is no replacement for being a regular, committed member of a local church. There are things about belonging to the church community that you just cannot get from a series of audio or video messages, so I encourage you to get out there and find a church to call home. That being said, I love listening to various weekly messages online. They expose me to new perspectives on scripture and challenge me to grow in the ways I think and present information and inspiration.
Access to inspiring, thought provoking teachings on the Word of God has skyrocketed over the past few years. From live stream to on-demand media, podcasts to phone apps, it is truly amazing what you can get your ears and eyes on at the click of a mouse or the tap of a finger. Each week I listen to anywhere between four and six hours of teachings on various topics. I always start with the voices of C3 Church (that’s my tribe!), but I like to expose myself to some diversity, too. To be clear, everything I put an ear to is based squarely on the scriptures, but I like to listen to various styles of preaching and I appreciate different modes of thought and perspective. Here are a few voices I like to listen to . . .
Phil Pringle is the senior pastor of C3 Church Oxford Falls and the founder of the C3 Church Global Movement. On weekends when Ps. Phil not in the pulpit, amazing ministers like his wife, Ps. Christine Pringle and executive pastor, Ps. Mark Kelsey bring an inspiring word. Their media stream is really high quality and they always include worship, so you have the chance to catch an entire service, and not just the message portion of a service. You can watch the services live or on-demand via their website or you can download the C3 Church App for both live streaming and on-demand media.
Ps. Dean and Jill Sweetman always bring messages that are faith filled and extremely practical and applicable to everyday life. You can listen to podcast messages from Ps. Dean and Jill and a variety of the church’s other ministers on Ps. Dean’s website.
Ps. Stephen Hickson and his wife Melissa planted C3Church Manhattan in the heart of New York City over ten years ago. They meet each Sunday at The TimesCenter in Times Square. You can catch weekly services (11:20am & 6:20pm EST) on live stream feed or you can view on demand media on the church’s UStream channel. The messages are also available as a podcast for portable listening on the go.
Ps. Jurgen’s delivery is pretty animated and I’ve found his style to be very engaging with friends who are just becoming open to hearing a message. You can check out all the media they have available on their church’s media page.
One of the most prolific and powerful preachers in the world, the Bishop streams live from The Potters House each Sunday at 9:00am CST. You can also catch the message in its entirety on demand, generally until Wednesday of the same week.
Bill Johnson is the Senior Pastor of Bethel Church in Redding, California. A self-declared revivalist, his messages consistently highlight the Presence of God, bringing the Kingdom of Heaven to earth and preaching a Gospel of power. The church has a media channel, iBethel.tv, where you can catch the live Sunday message or sign up for various on demand options. You can also listen to the podcast on their church podcast page. Finally, they have the Bethel Church app which gives you access to a few streamed media selections as well as a selection of podcasts including the most current message.
Ps. Steven is a powerhouse preacher and a voice for a younger generation. You can visit Elevation Network to view the most recent message, streamed every four hours. You can also visit the sermon archive of the Elevation Church website to get access to other selected messages. You can also download podcasts and their new Elevation App.
Ps. Rick Warren is one of the most well-known pastors globally. His style is markedly different than any of the other selections I’ve posted here, but I got saved at Saddleback years ago, so I have a connection that remains. His messages are highly practical and based on sound biblical principles. The website will alert you if there is a live service in progress. but services also run on a daily schedule, many times throughout the day. The media is always accompanied by sermon notes and access to the Bible online.
