FOR THE KINGDOM WOMAN WHOSE DOUBT HAS HER FROZEN SOLID ONE WEEK AND SPINNING OUT THE NEXT…
You know God told you to build this business or ministry. So why are you still stuck?
Maybe you’ve gone completely still. You haven’t touched it in weeks because you can’t see how it could possibly work from where you’re standing.
Or maybe you’re the other kind of stuck. Switching strategies. Rebuilding the page. Buying one more course. Moving the launch date again.
Busy, busy, busy, and not one bit of it is forward. Sister, those might look like opposite problems. They’re the exact same one, and it’s called… Doubt.
So let me give you the answer up front, because I don’t want you waiting for it: The antidote for doubt is not more faith, better faith, harder faith. The antidote for doubt is faithfulness.

Doubt Isn’t the Absence of Faith
Here’s where most of us get it wrong: We feel doubt rising and we think the fix is to go find more faith. Pray harder. Believe bigger. Declare louder.
But faith is a substance. It’s something God gave you a portion of when He gave you the assignment. You already have it. What doubt does is attach to that faith and make it operate wrong. Exactly the way a virus attaches to a healthy cell and hijacks the machinery and makes it go haywire.
So, you don’t need more faith. You need to work the faith you were given correctly, and that is called faithfulness. And understand this: Doubt is an action. A doing. When you go still, that’s doing something. When you spin out switching strategies, that’s doing something. Doubt moves your hands.
Faithfulness is a doing, too. It’s obedience with feet attached. One more thing before we get into the story… If you’re building something Kingdom in the earth, you are going to draw warfare. That’s not me being dramatic. It’s just the reality of a clash between two kingdoms.
The enemy isn’t after you because you’re special. He’s after Who you represent and what you’re building for Him.
Her Doubt Was Completely Reasonable
Let’s go to 2 Kings 4. A woman comes to Elisha and tells him her husband, one of the sons of the prophets, has died. Now creditors are coming to take her two sons as slaves to settle the debt.
This is not an imagined problem. This is real. Under the law of that day, she had no way to earn, no way to provide, and her children were about to be taken. And that’s exactly what I need you to see.
Her doubt made sense. Nobody would have looked at that woman and said girl, you’re being dramatic. Same for you. If you don’t have the money… the skillset… the connections, the support, the audience, the hours… Nobody on earth would call you crazy for worrying about that.
But here’s what’s underneath it, Sis… If God gave you a word about this business, He gave you faith to go with that word. So, when the circumstances contradict what He said, that’s precisely where doubt comes to attach itself.
Doubt always looks reasonable. That’s the devil’s whole strategy.
The First Move Is Not Fixing It Yourself
Look at what the widow does before she does anything else… She goes to the man of God. She doesn’t sit down with a ledger and try to math her way out of it. That matters, because the very first thing doubt whispers is this is your problem, so you’d better solve it. And we buy it every time.
You and I have something she didn’t. Hebrews 4:16 tells us we can come boldly to the throne of grace and receive mercy and find help in time of need. Direct access. No prophet required.
So, go to God first. Not after you’ve tried everything. And notice how she describes her husband. Your servant, who feared the Lord. That’s a posture. It’s a life where the voice of God carried the most weight in their heart.
So, let me ask you the uncomfortable version of that question: If God told you to build this and you’ve been dragging your feet for a year, are you walking in the fear of the Lord?
Because delayed obedience is disobedience. And a woman who has been slow to obey is a much easier target when the virus comes through. This isn’t a call to go fix everything you’ve done wrong. It’s a call to come humble and repentant, and then obey immediately from here.
“I Have Nothing, Except…”
Now God asks her two questions through the prophet, and they’re both beautiful. First: What shall I do for you? He wants you to say it. What do you actually want Him to do about this? Second: What do you have in your house?
He does this constantly in Scripture. He asked Moses what was in his hand, and it was a staff. David, with a slingshot in his pocket, went to the brook and picked up five stones. Samson had a jawbone.
God is not asking you to run a gauntlet to earn His provision. He’s asking what’s already within arm’s reach, because that’s what He intends to use. And her answer is the hinge the whole miracle turns on.
“Your servant has nothing in the house, except a flask of oil.“
Most of us stop dead at nothing. We look around, see no resources, and close the conversation right there. She didn’t. She found the except. So what’s your except? Maybe it’s a willingness. A conviction you can’t shake. One good idea. A small following. A skill that solves a real problem for somebody.
And listen, if you’re only going to have one thing in the house, let it be oil. Let it be the anointing. Let it be that fire of conviction the Holy Spirit put in you about this thing. That knowing on the inside of you is not nothing. That’s everything.
Then He Told Her to Leave the House
Here’s where it gets uncomfortable, because we assume that once we name our one thing, God multiplies it on the spot. He doesn’t. The prophet says go borrow. Go out. Ask the neighbors. Collect empty vessels, and not a few of them.
Two things in that instruction… First, you have to ask people for help. And every excuse climbing up your throat right now has a source. I’m not worthy of the help. I don’t have the money for it. I don’t want anyone to see me struggling. I should be able to figure this out myself.
Those are stumbling blocks to faithfulness, and the enemy is behind every one of them. Here’s what I’ll tell you as a coach: Women come to me with a problem they’ve carried for two years, and we solve it in thirty minutes on a call. Not because I’m impressive, but because God gave me grace in that area and it isn’t heavy for me.
The thing crushing you is often light in somebody else’s hands. Those vessels cost the neighbors nothing to lend. Second, not a few. He put an expectation on the number, because the oil was going to fill exactly as many vessels as she had the nerve to gather.
That’s Isaiah 54 energy. Enlarge the tent. Stretch out the curtains. Lengthen the cords, because you’re about to need the room. Doubt shrinks the ask. Faithfulness expands it.
Shut the Door and Pour
Then he tells her to go inside with her sons and shut the door. He’s not asking her to do it alone. He’s telling her who gets to be in the room.
Jesus did the same thing at Jairus’s house in Mark 5. The mourners laughed at Him when He said the girl was only sleeping, so He put them all out and kept only the ones who could stand in faith.
Doubt is contagious. Protect the room.
And then comes the hardest moment in the whole story. She’s standing in a house full of borrowed vessels with one small flask of oil in her hand, and the instruction is pour.
This is where doubt crescendos. This is where your mind says this will never be enough. Faithfulness is not talking back here. Faithfulness is not articulating all the reasons it won’t work. It’s moving your feet and starting to pour.
I see this most with my girls right up against a launch deadline. The date gets close and the fear rises and they want to move it.
Don’t. Launch messy. Launch to eight people. Launch to crickets if that’s what happens, because what you gain by going up against doubt and doing it anyway compounds into the next effort. And notice her deliverance wasn’t instant. It came as she kept pouring. One vessel at a time.
Sometimes the first step of the solution doesn’t look like the solution at all. You’ve got pages built and no traffic yet. You’ve got an offer live and no buyers yet.
Keep pouring.
The Oil Stops When the Obedience Stops
She filled every single vessel. She didn’t stop at sixty percent and decide that was probably enough. Then she asked her son for another one, and he said there wasn’t one left. And right there the oil stopped.
Write this down, Sis, because it’s the whole thing: The oil stops when the obedience stops. Not when God runs out. Not when the provision dries up. It stopped because the vessels ran out, and the vessels ran out because the gathering had ended.
So, if you want the oil to keep flowing, don’t stop obeying. That’s not a one-time decision. That’s a lifestyle of faithfulness. Then she goes back and gives testimony. It’s done. I did it.
And testimony carries a meaning worth knowing: Do. It. Again. When you report what God did, you’re inviting Him to do it again.
The prophet gives her the next step. Go sell the oil, pay your debts, and you and your sons live on the rest. She never knew how to fix her problem. She knew how to get to the One who could, and she knew how to move her feet when He told her to.
That’s available to you today. 💃🏻
