FOR THE KINGDOM WOMAN WHO CAN TELL YOU EXACTLY WHAT’S NOT WORKING IN HER BUSINESS, BUT SHE’S STILL STUCK IN THE STALL…
If I asked you how it’s going in your business, you could give me a detailed report….
What flopped. What nobody opened. What you’ve been at for four months with nothing to show for it. Where it stalled, when it stalled, which part of it isn’t working.
And you’re not wrong. You’re spitting out accurate facts. For DAYS.
But nothing you’re doing as a result of all that detailed, declarative analysis is fixing the problem. What. The. Heck?!
Can I tell you where I’d look first?
🌪️ Not at your funnel.
📝 Not at your offer.
🏋🏻♀️ Not at your effort.
Sis, I’d look right here:
→ At your mouth. 👀

No Human Being Can Tame This
We’re in James 3:1-12 in this episode, and the passage is called taming the tongue.
James opens by warning that those of us who teach get judged more strictly. That applies to you, because if you’re building something Kingdom-infused, you are teaching. Every post, every email, every conversation about what you’re building is instruction to somebody infused with Kingdom principles.
Next James hands us the pictures. A bit in a horse’s mouth turns the whole animal. A rudder you could carry under one arm turns a ship through a storm. The tongue is that small, but it steers that much.
Here’s the mechanics of why…
You are a spirit, you have a soul, and you live in a body. Your soul is where you think, feel, declare, and choose. Your spirit leads your soul, and your soul leads your body.
So, your body is only the thermometer. Your soul is the thermostat. Whatever you want showing up in your life gets set at the soul level, and what comes out of your mouth is the final read on what you already believed, thought, and settled in your heart.
Proverbs 4:23 tells us to guard our hearts above everything else, because that’s where it all flows from. Then James says the thing that should stop every one of us:
No human being can tame the tongue. None of us. Not with discipline. Not with trying harder. So, where’s our hope? Jesus died, rose, sat down at the right hand of the Father, and sent us His Spirit.
The Holy Spirit can tame the tongue, and He is the only one who can. This was never a willpower assignment. One more thing before we get to the three statements that have been stalling your business…
James asks whether a spring pours out both fresh and bitter water. It doesn’t. There’s no mixture in this Kingdom. Anything plus a drip of death is death. You can start a sentence with scripture and finish it off a cliff, and what you get is the cliff.
First, Quit Talking About Yourself Like That
Here’s the lie the enemy works hardest to get out of your mouth:
“The problem is me. I’m not ____.” These sound like:
😩 I’m not good enough at this.
😩 I don’t have the skillset.
😩 I don’t know how.
😩 I don’t have the faith for it.
Look at what that accomplishes for him…
Tear down the leader and the thing never gets built, because the builder stopped believing in the builder. When you speak disqualification over yourself, you are cursing the woman God appointed to build, launch, and grow this assignment. You cannot steward what He gave you while sabotaging the woman in the mirror.
Moses ran this exact play in Exodus 3 and 4. Five separate excuses, every one of them about his inability, his weakness, why he wasn’t the guy. Scripture says God’s anger burned, and then God handed Aaron the mouthpiece job that belonged to Moses.
Saul did it,too. When it came time to present him as king, 1 Samuel 10:22 says they found him hiding in the baggage, and he kept sowing that same seed about himself until it finally took him out.
Unless you want delay, distraction, and complication on this journey, this kind of talk has to go. If you need a skill, ask God for it, and ask Him without being double-minded. But don’t take up the project of convincing God you’re not qualified. If He called you, you’re qualified. “I don’t feel qualified” is a feeling, not a verdict.
Proverbs 31:25 says: She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she can laugh at the days to come. That’s not a compliment. That’s a description, and it’s yours.
If God said you’re the girl for the job, that settles it. So get up out of the complaining employee’s chair inside your own business and go sit where Ephesians 2 already seated you. Then talk like the visionary founder you actually are.
Second, Stop Saying Nothing’s Working
This is the most common thing I hear a founder speak over the thing God told her to build. It’s not working. I’m trying as hard as I can and nothing’s working. Understand what just got cursed. Not your strategy. The word God gave you.
This business isn’t some idea you cooked up, it’s an assignment that brings Him glory and does real good for the people He’s sending you to. Isaiah 55:11 says His word doesn’t come back empty, it prospers in whatever He sent it to do.
Declaring the opposite over God’s Word is you canceling out what He said. So here’s the shift, and it’s small. Add the word yet, then say what IS working.
I’ll tell on myself. Twice in the last two years, somebody on a call asked whether my mentorship included something it did not include. I had to say no. And that suggestion sat in the pit of my stomach like a rock, because there was truth in it.
I could have read it as a strike on my record. Instead, I went 1 Samuel 30 on it, where David loses everything in a raid, calls for the ephod, and asks God flat out whether he should pursue. God tells him to pursue, and that he will surely recover all.
So, that’s what I asked. Lord, is this something I could add? Both times He said pursue. Both times I built it and put it in the mentorship. Both times it drew my ideal customer. And both of those women became members. It was never a dead end. It was a timing issue.
Zechariah 4:10 says: Don’t despise small beginnings, because the Lord rejoices to see the work begin. If you’ve got glimmers, that’s God smiling over a start, not evidence of failure. Double down there with your words and your effort and watch them grow.
And Deuteronomy 28:8 promises a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to when you trust and obey Him. Obey Him with your mouth, too.
Your business is holy ground. Speak life over that seed while it’s still underground, and stop calling your divine assignment a struggle, a failure, or impossible.
Third, Watch What You Say About Your People
This is the one that stops women cold once they see it. Have you ever said this about your offer and the people God has called you to serve?
😩 They don’t want this.
😩 They won’t pay for it.
😩 They’re not going to value it.
When you say that, you are not talking about your offer. You are talking about the people God assigned you to serve, and you’re speaking about their ability to hear Him rightly and recognize what He has for them.
Your offer is a solution God put in you for them. So, when you talk down about their capacity to see it or want it, you’re talking down about them. I believe that alone will stop most of us in our tracks today.
James 3:11 again: One spring does not pour both fresh and bitter. You cannot steward your people with love and excellence while quietly criticizing their ability to receive what God gave you to hand them.
And if selling it to them still breaks your brain, hear this. The price tag is part of the help.
When I run a workshop for free, fewer women show up and fewer women action what they learned. Put ten or twenty dollars on it and both numbers climb. People value what they pay for. Charging doesn’t take from them, it helps them recognize this is the solution they needed and move on it.
Now the hard part… Desperation does not stay in your head. It comes out as graspiness in your messaging, your copy, your invitation, and the very energy you deliver it with. They feel you.
Which means you are creating the lack of response. The crickets on social, the landing page nobody converts on, the offer nobody answers, while in the background you’ve been saying this isn’t working and they’re never going to get it.
Proverbs 16:24 says: Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. And Galatians 6:9 says: Don’t grow weary in doing good, because the harvest comes at the proper time if we don’t give up. Speaking life over your future customers is doing good, and those words are seed with a harvest attached.
So, move your mouth off of selling to a target market and onto prophesying hope, breakthrough, and transformation over the people God called you to lead. Then watch them come to you.
About Being a Verbal Processor
This is the explanation I hear most when I ask a woman why she’s speaking in a negative or critical way over her business: I didn’t mean it like that. I’m just a verbal processor.
Woe to you, verbal processor. 😉 But seriously, you do not want to be doing that. Every word out of your mouth is creative and productive. It doesn’t stop being creative because your intentions were casual. Death is death, no matter why you spoke it.
So, if feelings are going to come out of your mouth, do what David does all through the Psalms. He names what he feels, out loud and in detail. His enemies are after him, his body is failing, he feels like he’s dying. And then he turns: Yet this is what I know is true, this is what I will declare, and this is what I’m going to do.
That’s the template. Name the feeling as a feeling. Cancel it. Then declare what God said and move in accordance with it.
Now Go Mind Your Mouth
Let’s do something with this instead of just agreeing with it. Grab your journal and write declarations over three things: You as the leader God appointed, the thing He called you to build, and the people He assigned you to serve. Write them where you’ll read them back.
And if the lies are loud right now, start with the Thought Exchange Worksheet inside the Kingdom Builder’s Mindset Toolkit. First column, the lie you’ve been speaking. The problem is me. Nothing’s working. They’ll never pay for this. Then ask Him what He wants you to believe instead, and write that in the second column. Then say it out loud.
That’s how you walk out 2 Corinthians 10:5 and take a thought captive on paper.
Mind your mouth this week, Sis. 💃🏻
