FOR THE KINGDOM WOMAN WHO WANTS THIS BUSINESS TO MAKE REAL MONEY AND KEEPS QUIETLY APOLOGIZING FOR IT…
You’ve prayed about the money. But notice how you pray about it.
🙏🏼 Lord, just enough to cover things.
🙏🏼 Just enough so we can make it work.
🙏🏼 Just enough so we don’t look greedy.
But that’s false humility, Sis, and I’m going to shoot you straight:
That “just enough” prayer we pray? THAT’S the greedy one. 😬
And it’s keeping us from praying those BIG FAITH prayers that really matter to Kingdom building, like…
God bless this business to make wealth in all seasons as you prosper the work of my hands for the expansion of Your Kingdom!
Let me show you why that’s the more biblical prayer, and why the small one has been costing you.

Welcome to Kingdom or Culture
This is the first in a new series, and here’s what we’re doing with it.
There are business and marketing beliefs floating around out here that get handed to us as gospel. Some of them are solid. Some of them are culture wearing a Jesus shirt.
So, we’re going to take them one at a time and run them against the Word of God.
Because this is non-negotiable for me, and it’s a value inside my mentorship: you should never have to negotiate your faith to be successful. If a strategy requires you to set your convictions down, that’s not a strategy. That’s a trade, and it’s a bad one.
First one up: Is it biblical to want wealth?
Prosperity Was Never Meant to Be a Red Flag
Somewhere along the way we picked up a reflex. A believer starts prospering and our first instinct is suspicion.
What are they doing. Where’s that coming from. Something must be off.
But go read Deuteronomy 28 and look at what God promises over a people who trust and obey Him. He names the blessing in every direction: their work, their children, their land, their storehouses.
Abundance is listed as evidence of walking rightly, not evidence of walking crooked.
And let’s take the obvious example, because I know it’s sitting there. The ministers everybody accuses of getting rich off the church.
Could you find one who’s doing that? Sure. But the overwhelming majority of them aren’t pulling wealth out of the offering plate. They’ve built their own business income stream running parallel to the ministry.
That’s not a loophole. That’s wisdom, and it’s in the book. Solomon’s counsel in Ecclesiastes 11:2 is to give a portion to seven, or even to eight, because you don’t know what trouble may come. Don’t put everything in one place.
So before you reach for the accusation, consider that they may be making wealth the way Scripture told them to.
And then ask yourself the harder question. Is the suspicion really about them?
Go Count How Many of Them Were Rich
Here’s an exercise that undid me the first time I did it.
Open your Bible to the table of contents. Sixty-six books. Now go find out what the men who wrote them were actually worth.
Solomon. David. Moses, raised in Pharaoh’s household. Abraham, who Scripture describes as very rich in livestock, silver and gold. Paul, educated at the highest level available in his world.
The percentage is not small, friend. The men God trusted to carry the inspired Word were, in large majority, wealthy men.
That ought to settle something. God is not allergic to resourced people. He has consistently built His purposes through them.
And before you bring me Jesus, read Matthew 2 again. Kings from the East traveled to a house to worship a child, and rulers do not visit rulers with gift bags. Those were caravans full of frankincense, gold and myrrh, my friend.
I went all the way into that one back in Episode 33 if you want the full teaching.
Why He Gives the Ability at All
Deuteronomy 8:18 is where this lands, and it does something that’s somewhat rare in scripture. It tells you God’s reason.
God says it is He who gives you the power to get wealth, and then He says why:
So that He may confirm His covenant.
Here’s the truth, Sis… Your prosperity isn’t about your appetite. It’s evidence God puts in the earth so people can look at your life and know He’s good for what He says. 🙌🏼
Psalm 126 is that exact scene. The exiles come back to Zion and it feels like a dream, and the watching nations say The Lord has done great things for them. Then the people answer back, The Lord has done great things for us, and we are glad.
That’s a testimony with a crowd around it.
And the psalm closes by promising that the ones who went out weeping, carrying seed to sow, come back carrying sheaves with shouts of joy.
That’s you! Sowing in a season where it costs you something, with a harvest coming that other people will witness.
Now Here’s Why “Just Enough” Is the Greedy Prayer
Generosity is not optional for a follower of Jesus. It’s a defining mark. Proverbs 11:25 says, A generous person will prosper, and whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.
So ask yourself the practical question. If you only ever have just enough, what exactly are you planning to be generous with?
👉🏽 You can’t pour out of a cup you prayed to be exactly full.
That’s why the small prayer is the selfish one. It secures you and leaves everybody downstream of you with nothing, and then we dress it up as modesty.
Inside the Jesus Girl Gang we call this the pouring out principle, and I found it by going through Scripture looking for how God actually moves money.
Jesus said it in Luke 6:38. Give, and it will be given to you. Pressed down, shaken together, running over, poured into your lap. And then He adds the line we skip right past: With the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.
You set the measure. Your generosity sets your own return rate.
Paul says the same thing to the Corinthians in 2 Corinthians 9. God is able to bless you abundantly so that you’ll have all you need and plenty left over for every good work. And in Ephesians 4:28 he tells the one who used to steal to work with his hands instead, specifically so he’ll have something to share with anyone in need.
Something to share. That’s the assignment, and it requires a surplus.
The generous heart comes first. But a generous heart can’t operate unless you believe God wants to get something into your hands to give.
Which means the moment you decided wanting wealth was ungodly, you cut the supply line to your own generosity.
Money Buys Speed
Let me make this concrete, because this is the part nobody really says out loud in church.
Picture a woman who needs work. Here’s the slow road…
You talk with her, convince her to enroll in a job training program, wait for the enrollment window, help her through the coursework, find a grant so she can buy interview clothes, locate somebody willing to build her a resume.
Weeks. Sometimes months.
Now here’s the other road…
God says sponsor her, and you put a thousand dollars down. Clothes today. Resume today. Course paid for today.
The whole timeline collapses!
Same heart, same obedience, wildly different outcome, and the only variable was access to resource.
That’s what money does. It buys speed, and speed is mercy when somebody is waiting.
So when you shrink what you’re willing to receive, you’re not just limiting yourself. You’re setting the pace for everyone God intended to reach through you.
You are the conduit, Sis. Money doesn’t fall out of the sky onto the people who need it. It moves through believers who were willing to hold enough to pass some along.
And what you sow that way isn’t just currency anymore. It’s seed with your faith on it.
God Is Old Money
One more thing, because the enemy has done real work here…
The kingdom of darkness is loud about wealth. It dangles it, glamorizes it, and convinces people it’s the source.
But God owns the cattle on a thousand hills and makes something out of nothing for a living. He’s old money. The enemy is new money, and most of it is smoke.
Jesus was clear in Matthew 6:24 that you cannot serve both God and money. One of them is master.
So let God be your master, and money becomes your servant. Flip that, and you’ll spend your life working for something that was supposed to work for you.
He also said in Matthew 6:21 that where your treasure is, your heart will follow. So put your treasure into Kingdom things and watch your heart go with it.
And hold onto Proverbs 13:22. A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, and the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.
The wicked may make it. They don’t get to keep it.
Now Go Make the Exchange
So, let’s do something with this instead of just agreeing with it.
Grab the Kingdom Builder’s Mindset Toolkit and pull out the Thought Exchange Worksheet. It’s how you walk out 2 Corinthians 10:5 and take a thought captive on paper.
In the first column, write the lie you’ve been holding about money. Wanting more is greedy. Wealthy Christians are compromised. God wouldn’t want that for me.
Then ask Him what He wants you to believe instead, and write that in the second column.
Then say it out loud: God, I hand You this lie. I receive this truth instead. I repent for ever agreeing with it, and I don’t agree with it now, in Jesus’ name.
That’s the exchange. Isaiah 61 says He gives beauty for ashes, and He’ll take that one off your hands too.
Pray the bigger prayer this week. 💃🏻
