FOR THE KINGDOM WOMAN WHO KNOWS SHE’S CALLED TO BUILD THIS BUSINESS BUT FEELS SOMEWHERE FROM ICK TO INEFFECTIVE EVERY TIME SHE TRIES TO SELL SOMETHING…
You made the ask.
Maybe it was a post, or a story, or a real live conversation with a woman who needed exactly what you have. You got the words out.
And the whole time, you felt weird. Pushy. A little bit like a fraud. Or maybe it wasn’t even that. Maybe you felt fine about it, and then… nothing happened.
So you’ve stepped back from direct selling. You’ve busied yourself with other things instead. Refining the offer. Praying about the timing. Building “the thing behind the thing.”
But can we talk about what’s really happening here?
You didn’t like how you felt when you went for the sale, so now you’re avoiding it. But if you avoid selling forever, you’ll never have the successful business God showed you. So, what do you do?
You sell like Jesus did, Sis. That’s your answer.

Yes, Jesus Was Selling Something
I know your religious mind just did a thing. So, let’s walk through it together. Jesus was “selling” salvation. New life. Access to the Kingdom.
And I know, it’s hard to think about salvation or what Jesus did for us as anything even remotely connected to selling, but what he did was truly a form of it – maybe more like exchange or barter but I’ve got to tell you – the sales term “conversion” comes from what Jesus did. Just sayin’.
And I honestly don’t know if there has ever been a harder sell than what Jesus was offering: Repentance and faith unto salvation. Because repentance requires a person to look at their own life and say I am off. I am completely off the right path, and I need to turn around. Now.
That’s like selling sobriety to an addict.
Now you’re going to tell me He didn’t charge for it. He didn’t. But make no mistake, there was a cost.
He walked up on men holding nets that represented their entire livelihood and told them to drop everything and follow Him. One man asked for time to go bury his father, and Jesus told him to let the dead bury their own dead. In that culture, burying your father was sacred obligation. So the cost of that sale was a man’s standing, his family duty, and his entire livelihood.
That’s more expensive than dollars.
So, if Jesus was out there moving the hardest offer in human history and closing, then whatever you’ve got on offer is not harder than what He pulled off. And we should probably study how He did it.
Selling Is Serving
This is what I tell every woman who comes into my mentorship, and I’ll tell you the same thing: When you are selling right, you are serving.
Here’s what selling actually is:
God put something inside you. He told you it was meant to serve a specific group of people, and He gave you the solution and the sound to deliver it with. You extend the offer to solve that person’s problem and they accept and pay you for it. Boom!
That’s the whole thing. You have what your people need, and selling is how it gets to them.
So, when you shrink back from the ask, you’re not being humble. You’re keeping the solution away from the person God assigned you to help. And can I tell you something?
People love to buy solutions.
They’re not annoyed that you’re selling. They’re waiting to find someone who sees them and gets them, names the exact problem they’re living in, and hands them something that solves it perfectly.
That’s not ick or awkward or salesy, Sis. That’s service. And honestly, it’s sacrificial service.
Take a minute to think about what you gave up to bring this thing to market. The comfort, the evenings, the time with people you love. You invested a ton into that solution before they ever saw the first glipse of it.
Three Things Jesus Knew As the Master of Conversion
He knew His people. Jesus was called to the lost sheep of Israel, and He said so out loud. There are moments in the Gospels where He tells someone no because they weren’t who He was sent to. But, interestingly, that didn’t mean that “outsider” didn’t get what they came for. Just because he was “selling” to one particular people group didn’t mean others were excluded.
That’s a masterclass in niching down, and it’s the piece most Kingdom entrepreneurs skip. If you’re building for everybody, your message is landing on nobody. But if you dial it in, it has a wild way of drawing in more folks than you could imagine!
He knew His sound and His solution. You’d think Jesus talked about love and salvation more than anything else. He didn’t. He talked about the Kingdom of God and repenting more than any other subject in His ministry. He knew the pathway to what they really wanted and needed. So he stayed fixed on the message that mattered.
And He was relentlessly consistent about that one transformational message. Not “come buy My thing,” but here is the transformation available to you and here is how you step into it.
He knew His vehicle. For Jesus, the way He got what He was offering to His people was preaching. Village to village, hillside to hillside, in person, out loud. He wasn’t trying to be a fisherman with wares at the market or an influencer trying to go viral with entertainment skits. He knew the container His message was meant to travel in, and He submitted all of it to the Father.
So you’ve got to know these things in order to sell with ease and confidence like Jesus did: Your person, your sound, your vehicle. When those three are settled, selling stops feeling like performance and starts feeling like grace-driven obedience. And wouldn’t we all like sales to feel like that?
Jesus Ran a Funnel
Stay with me, because this is the part that changes how you build. Jesus ran a 3-step funnel that is exactly like the funnels modern day marketing teaches us to build out in these online streets. You ready for this? Here are the three steps:
Attract. Jesus attracted a crowd around Him with signs, miracles, and wonders. He gave people a small, undeniable transformation first, so they could see what He did, who He did it for, and that it actually worked.
Then word of mouth did the rest. Crowds gathered on hillsides because they’d heard about Him.
You need something in front of your people right from the start that makes them turn aside and look, the way Moses turned aside for a bush that wouldn’t burn up. A hook. A freebie. Proof that you get results. This is what brings them close enough to be able to start seeing what you have on offer and whether it’s for them or not.
Nurture. Once the crowd was sitting down, Jesus told stories. “The Kingdom of heaven is like…” over and over and over. He had attraction stories and He had repelling stories. This is what you want and here’s how to get it. This is what you don’t want and here’s how to avoid it.
Every online marketing expert wants to tell you that nurture is dead these days. Nurture is not dead. It just got shorter, because we’re in the information age and what used to take our person seven weeks now takes about seventy minutes. They’re finding you at 11am and buying their first thing from you at 2am. It happens that fast sometimes!
But they still have to build trust with you first. That’s what your pinned posts, your highlight bubbles, your long-form content – the natural nurture content you put out on the internet for them to find while you sleep – are so vital to getting this sales system functioning properly.
Convert. Here’s something incredible to notice: People approached Jesus for conversion. He wasn’t chasing anybody down the road asking if they wanted to get saved. He built the pathway, released the offer repeatedly, stayed in faith, and when someone was ready, they came to Him.
Nicodemus came to Him at night with a question. Jesus laid out exactly how salvation and the Kingdom worked, gave him the steps, and extended the offer.
That man walked away. He didn’t buy.
Jesus didn’t chase him. No aggressive follow-up sequence, no abandoned cart discount, no scrambling. Because He knew He’d done everything the moment required, and He knew what He was offering and that it was the best solution for those who had eyes to see it and ears to hear it.
You Cannot Sell What You’re Questioning
This is where most of selling breaks down.
If you think you’re scheming your person, hustling them, taking too much of their money, you will never build a magnet at the point of conversion.
You’ll flip that magnet over and repel them, even if they are your ideal buyer. Because if you’re questioning the sale, they are going to question the sale. They can smell the confidence and authenticity levels. Every. Single. Time.
You need to get confident that what you have, and the way you’re offering it, is the only way for the person God sent you to. Not because you’ve figured it out or are a super star in your own right, but because God said so. That person. That solution. That vehicle.
Until that’s settled in you, you will not see the conversions, the income, or the impact you’re believing for. And selling will always feel hard and awkward. Let’s change that today, okay?
Be Noah, Not Jonah
The Lord had me dig a coffee mug out of a cabinet the morning I taught this. It said, Let the adventure begin. And He told me to tell you, “You can start fresh whenever you decide it’s a new day.”
Because some of us have decided it’s too late. Maybe you’ve been using your age as “evidence.” You’ve been using the number of times you’ve launched and it didn’t work as “proof” of why it’s never going to work.
God never said any of that. You decided it, based on data and statistics and what’s happening around you, and that is walking by sight, Sister. We’re not called to do that.
Jonah was an absolute mess when we find him at the beginning of his Bible story. Refusing to go to the people God called him to. But Jonah eventually delivered the word. He just took the long, expensive route to get there. He crossed the finish line, but it cost a lot of time, energy and sanity to get there.
Now take Noah. He was called to build a boat for a flood no human eye had ever seen, with no support and no precedent, and still he got right to work and did the thing. It still cost him time and energy, but I’m betting he didn’t have to sacrifice his sanity.
Both men got to the target. One had a better experience in getting there. The difference here was belief and obedience, my friend.
When it comes to selling, you want to be Noah. It may feel hard and time consuming, but if you’ll just trust and build according to the pattern for sales that we’ve been given through Jesus, you will hit your target with your sanity and salvation intact.
It’s coming! So, keep going. Sell like Jesus!
