FOR THE KINGDOM WOMAN STANDING AT THE EDGE OF HER CALLING AND STALLING BECAUSE SHE DOESN’T *FEEL* READY YET…
You’ve been waiting to feel ready.
Waiting until you’ve learned one more thing. Fixed one more piece.
Waiting until the landing page looks right, until the offer feels polished enough, until the fear finally quiets down and you just know it’s time.
So let me save you years right now, because I love you too much to let you keep waiting:
That feeling is never coming.
And here’s the part that’ll set you free. It’s not coming… by design.
The truth is, you’re ready when God says you’re ready. And if He’s already called you, then that day isn’t out ahead of you somewhere. That day is today, friend. It’s time to move!

God Never Called Anyone Who Felt Ready
Go looking through your Bible for the person who felt ready, and you won’t find them.
Nobody was sitting around going, I’m just ready to be king. I’m just ready to go to war and win. I’m just ready to give birth to the Messiah of the world. That’s not how a single one of these stories goes.
What you find instead, over and over, is God encountering someone and saying: You’re going to do this. And that someone saying, Whoa, wait, You’ve got the wrong person.
Think about Gideon. When the angel of the Lord finds him in Judges 6, he’s hiding in a winepress, threshing wheat so the Midianites won’t steal it. He’s terrified. He calls himself the least of the smallest clan of the smallest tribe. And what does the angel call him? Mighty man of valor.
God saw something Gideon couldn’t feel.
Look at Moses in Exodus 3 and 4. God calls him to deliver a nation, and Moses hands over roughly five excuses back to back. I’m not the guy. I’m slow of speech. They won’t believe me. And God essentially says, Who do you think made your mouth? I knew you’d be slow of speech before I ever called you. I planned for this. Now go, and I’ll go with you.
King Saul? When it was time to be presented as king, they found him hiding. In the luggage pile.
This pattern is all over the Bible once you know what you’re looking for. God calls, the person points to a feeling of unreadiness, and God moves them forward anyway, because the call was never based on how they felt. It was based on what He knew when He formed them.
Ephesians 2:10 says He prepared good works for us to walk in before we were ever born. He’s not calling you wrong. He doesn’t look back and go, hmm, maybe I misjudged that one. He knew exactly who He was making.
So when that feeling of “I’m not ready” rises up — the landing page isn’t good enough, I don’t know enough about this topic yet, it’s not the right time — you’d do well to see it for what it is:
That’s a feeling. It is not a fact. And it is definitely not a no from God.
Waiting on God is Not the Same as Waiting on a Feeling
Now hear me, because this is where it gets convicting.
There’s a real thing called waiting on the Lord, and it’s holy. But most of the time, what we call “waiting on God” is actually waiting on a feeling. We dress up our fear in spiritual language and tell ourselves we’re being prayerful and discerning, when really we’re just scared and stalling.
If God has already spoken — if He’s already said this is what I made you for, go build it — then continuing to wait for a feeling to catch up isn’t discernment. It’s disobedience wearing a prettier outfit.
I’ll call myself out on it too, because I’ve done it. That “I don’t feel ready” excuse is one of the most spiritual-sounding stalls there is. But if He said it, that settles it, Sis. If He assigned you to it, that’s the deal.
The only way any of us glorifies God is by walking in the purpose He made us for, and He does not need you to feel ready to accomplish that. He needs you to be willing.
You Can Generate Your Feelings Instead of Being Run by Them
Here’s the statement that might shock you, and I want you to sit with it:
You were designed to direct your emotions, not to be dictated by them.
I know exactly how that sounds to the woman whose feelings feel completely out of her control some days. So let me tell you where I’m standing when I say it…
I suffered severe postpartum anxiety after my second son was born. It was so bad they wanted to write psychosis on my chart. And now, I’m riding the wild rollercoaster of perimenopause. If anyone has grounds to argue that emotions are too strong to manage, it’s me.
But I’m also a Bible teacher and a certified holistic health coach, so I live right at the intersection of the felt experience, the physiology, and the Word of God. And here’s what the research and the Scripture both confirm:
When you steward your breath, your thoughts, and your spoken words, you can actually shift the emotion that comes out.
Because here’s what’s really happening when you say I can’t do this right now...
You’re not being chased by a lion. There’s no bear in the room. The chemical cascade of fear moving through your body was started by a thought — I’m not good enough for this, I don’t have what I need — and then the feeling that thought produced turns around and whispers, see? I’m not ready. It’s a loop. And awareness that the loop exists is the first step to breaking it.
Our culture has trained us to obey our emotions. Even a lot of well-meaning voices will tell you your nervous system is just broken and you can’t help it, so don’t even try.
And I want to be so careful here, because that sounds like mercy. But if you never learn to manage your emotions, you will never arrive at the “okay” you’re looking for.
That’s not mercy. That’s a real roadblock. The kind the enemy likes to throw in your way to keep you out of fulfilling your purpose.
Don’t Throw Away Your Responsibility (But Do Ask for Help)
Now, let me be clear about what I’m not saying, because this matters.
I’m not saying white-knuckle it and never ask for help. There are days when you know the emotions are massive and it’s going to be a challenge to make it through without blowing something (or someone) up — metaphorically, of course! On those days you’ll likely need an intervention from on high or from beside you, and asking for it is not weakness. Girl, that’s wisdom! Know your edges.
But here’s a discipline I’ve learned to automate over the years when it gets tough…
I don’t throw away my responsibility to steward my own emotions in the first place. We’ve been taught that at some point feelings just become too big to manage, and honestly, I think that’s a hyper-mercy perspective that robs from you.
My body, my emotions — this is the first territory God gave me to have dominion over. This is true for you, too. This is the training ground where God teaches us to walk in authority. Don’t hand that ground away.
Because the enemy has a strategy here, and it’s an old one. He wants to convince you it will never work, so you’ll stop trying altogether.
He wants you to be the two-ton elephant held in place by a flimsy little rope and a stake that isn’t even reinforced — an elephant that could walk away any moment, but doesn’t, because it got trained early that it couldn’t.
That’s the lie. Don’t fall for it. If God said you can, then you can. It doesn’t matter what emotions try to pop up.
So What Do You Do With This?
You plant the seed when God says to plant it. Not when the weather feels perfect.
Ecclesiastes 11:4 puts it plainly:
Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.
Most of us are standing there checking our emotional conditions like a farmer squinting at the sky, and it keeps us out of the winner’s circle every single time. If God said sow, then sow, even if the sky looks gray, and even if you don’t feel like it.
Because when you move on His timing, He’s the one responsible to make it grow. When you insist on moving on your timing, you also have to sustain it in your own strength, and that gets expensive — in your finances, your energy, your family, your peace.
And when the excuse rises up one more time — I’m too young, I’m too much, I’m not enough — remember what God said to Jeremiah when he tried that line: You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. No debate. No renegotiation.
You’re not too young. You’re not too much. You’re not too anything. You are exactly what God made you to be, and He built into you the ability to manage your emotions and keep walking out the call even when you don’t feel ready.
You are ready because God said you’re ready. So let your mouth say it: I am ready.
If He said it, that settles it. Let’s go. And those emotions? They’ll come into alignment right behind you.
