#28: What My Last Launch Taught Me About Building a Kingdom Business Online in 2026

June 26, 2026

FOR THE KINGDOM WOMAN WHO IS BUILDING (OR ABOUT TO BUILD) A BUSINESS ONLINE AND TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT’S ACTUALLY WORKING IN 2026.

Have you noticed how much HARDER it has gotten to launch an online business this year?

You are doing all the things. The strategies that used to work. The content cadence. The funnels everyone teaches. And it is just not landing the way it used to.

If that has been your experience, you are not imagining it. Something has shifted. The internet has changed. AI has changed how buyers think and decide. Your audience is deliberating differently than they were even six months ago.

I just wrapped a 12-day launch of my workshop, The Jesus Girl’s Business Launch Lab. And I pulled four lessons out of the experience that I believe every Kingdom woman building a business online in 2026 needs to hear.

As I was launching and pivoting in real time, I was sharing every step of this with my mentorship members. They got so much out of seeing the actual process and the actual thinking. I figured you would benefit from it too.

So here is the reflection. Not too heavy on all the potentially mind-numbing metrics and dollar values, but chock full of transparent observations, the strategic shifts I am taking forward, and what you can apply right now to your own Kingdom business build.

Lesson 1: Clarity Does Not Come From Thinking. It Comes From Doing.

Here is a Kingdom principle worth getting straight. Clarity does not come from praying about it more. It does not come from thinking about it more. Clarity comes from action.

You might want to push back on me here. Erica, that sounds like blasphemy. Shouldn’t I get clarity from prayer? You will absolutely get revelation from prayer. You will get a promise from God. But you are not going to get clarity until you start moving your feet in accordance with what He told you.

Faith without works is dead” (James 2:26). Scripture is unambiguous about this. And the data from this last launch proved it.

I added a tool to my sales platform called Microsoft Clarity. If you have not used a tool like this, it is essentially a heat map plus a screen-recording layer on top of your website. It shows you where people are clicking, how long they linger, and even records what their visit looks like in real time.

What I discovered through Microsoft Clarity is that my ideal customer was opening my sales page, reading for 10 to 15 minutes, opening it in an external browser to “come back to later,” closing it, and never returning. She did this three, four, even five times across the registration period. Lots of deliberation, but lots of no decision, too, over a ten-day window.

And then, in the final five days of the launch when urgency hit, she finally moved. Even more telling, four people bought AFTER cart closed (I left the page active as a little test, and it scored). They watched the urgency window pass and STILL felt compelled to buy.

Here is what I learned: Kingdom women think and pray on every decision a lot. A LOT. And much of the time, what we are calling discernment is actually doubt dressed up in “righteous delay.”

The clarity you are praying for is on the OTHER side of the doing, Sister. Not in more praying and thinking before it.

You will not pray your way into knowing if your business idea has legs. You will not journal your way into knowing what your offer should be. You will not “spend more time with God on it” your way into the next step.

God already told you to go. The discernment was given when He said go. Now your part is to walk forward and let Him direct your path while you walk.

Lesson 2: The “80% Launched Wall” Is a Pattern, Not a Personal Failure.

If you have been trying to launch your Kingdom business for years and you keep hitting a wall around 80% or 85% of the way there, hear me on this. You are not imagining it. And you are not failing.

This is the testimonial I get the most from women who come through my programs. Some version of: “I was doing this for years on my own. Started and stopped two, three, four times. The call kept coming back to me. I could not figure out why I couldn’t make it work. I kept hitting that 80% wall.”

Then they joined my program, and everything changed. What was it? It was not a discipline upgrade. It was not a calling upgrade. It was a pattern upgrade

Here is the reframe. We have been taught — by the online business industry and by our own internal “high-capacity woman” wiring — that we need one thing to break through that wall: the right strategy.

If we could just find the right framework, the right system, the right course, we could finally figure this out on our own.

That is not biblical. There are virtually no big build-out plans in scripture where God said, “You, as only one person, have to do this whole thing.” And before you point to Noah, remember there were eight people on that boat.

The whole plan was not just to build the boat. The whole plan was to preserve humanity through the boat, and that required more than just Noah’s hands.

You hit that 80% wall because you have been building with one piece of a four-piece pattern. You need a framework, yes. You also need a guide. You need a community. And you need the systems and platform that hold the build together.

In the Bible, the way you learn how to do something you have never done before is through apprenticeship. Jesus apprenticed under Joseph as a carpenter. Paul apprenticed under Gamaliel. There is no shame in needing a guide.

The community piece is where I want to spend an extra beat. My dad was a race car driver. I grew up at the racetrack, learning the physics of drag and draft.

Drag is the resistance pulling you backward when you race alone. Draft is what happens when you tuck in behind someone with momentum. You ride their slipstream until you can slingshot past them.

When you get into a community of Kingdom women all moving in the same direction, you draft on each other’s momentum. You win together. You were never designed to do this in isolation. The isolation IS part of the problem.

Lesson 3: The Right Buyer Does Not Always Buy On Time — And That Is Useful Data.

This one is for the Kingdom builder who serves women like herself.

Four of the sales from this last launch came AFTER cart closed. Multiple visitors started the checkout flow weeks before they finally said yes. I had cold visitors who saw the first ad in week one and did not decide until day 11.

And the data showed me something every Kingdom business owner needs to hear.

The standard launch cycle that the online business industry regularly teaches — the urgency-driven 5-day or 7-day cart — was built for a different kind of buyer. It was built for the buyer who decides fast. Who feels the pressure. Who responds to scarcity.

The Kingdom woman buyer is a different animal. She prays. She researches. She talks to her husband. She talks to God. She watches you for months, sometimes years, before she moves. And what she has been told by the online business world is that this is somehow a problem in her. That she needs to “make a decision.”

I disagree. That is wisdom to honor.

Here is what I am doing differently going forward. My workshop launches are moving to three-week cart windows. I am building an evergreen model so the offer is available whenever she is ready. The mentorship page stays open all the time. No more 8-day exclusive window.

The right time will be different for different women, and the data confirms it. We’ll test it and see what to do next when the real data from real women who are real customers comes in.

Here is what this means for YOU. If you have ever felt bad about being a slow yes… about needing more time than other people seem to need… stop. That is not weakness. That is discernment.

But also hear me. There is a difference between honoring your decision cycle and what I described in Lesson 1: doubt dressed up as discernment.

It is both/and. We have to build offers that meet the Kingdom woman where she is AND we have to call her up to move when God says move. The two truths live together.

Lesson 4: You Cannot Delegate Discernment. Not Even to a Smart Algorithm.

This one is for the strategist in you.

I have been running ads as my primary marketing vehicle for three years. Every launch I have ever run with ads has been profitable. I know how to do this work. I know my numbers.

About 10 months ago, Meta changed the algorithm and accelerated their push toward removing advertiser control of targeting. Advantage Plus campaigns started doing most of the work for you. The new pitch from the industry was: “Just make sure your creative and copy speak to your ideal customer. Meta will figure out the rest. Meta knows your customer better than you do.”

I trusted that pitch for three launch cycles between October and January. And during those cycles, I systematically destroyed my pixel data set.

Meta kept suggesting expansions. Lookalike audiences. Optimizations to approve. Every single time, the audience the AI was suggesting was NOT my ideal customer. It was someone who would click. Someone who might convert on a low-ticket offer. But not the Kingdom woman I built this for.

The result? For the first time ever in my mentorship, three women left within three months. My mentorship retention average is THREE YEARS.

This is well above the industry standard of two to six months for memberships. The women Meta brought in were what I’d loving refer to as “course enthusiasts” — they wanted to buy and consume, not build and launch. They came in expecting a course and left when they realized we were actually going to build… with cadence.

So, in this last launch, I had to take it back. I said NO to almost every AI suggestion. I went back to manual targeting in the ad sets where I could. My cost per acquisition was higher this round — about $133 versus my old average. But I got the RIGHT Kingdom women into the room.

Here is the word that came to me through this process: Mastership. You cannot delegate discernment. Not to an algorithm. Not to AI. Not to anyone. You’ve got to maintain mastership of your promotional positioning and strategy.

The algorithm will optimize for anything you let it optimize for. If you do not know who your right-fit customer is, the algorithm will fill that gap with whoever clicks.

And this is not just an ad lesson. This is for ANY algorithmic tool you are using right now. Your social scheduler. Your content AI. Your email automation. The job is still discernment. You still have to be the one who knows your customer and your calling.

Kingdom business is built on right-fit, not on volume. God put a particular people group on your heart. People with a specific pain, a specific problem, a specific need that He gave YOU the solution to. You are the right woman for that job, for that solution, for that transformation.

Right-fit always costs more upfront. But it is the only thing that compounds.

So What Do You Do With This?

If any of these four lessons hit you, here is the truth I want to leave you with.

You are not behind. You are not broken. You are not the wrong woman for the job. The internet has shifted, and what worked in 2024 is not what is working in 2026. That is not your fault, and now you have an updated playbook.

I am building something different for August. I do not have all the details to share yet. But when I do, I want you on my email list to hear about it first.
