#39: The Healthiest Body in the World

June 13, 2021

Who’s got the healthiest body on the face of the planet?

On this week’s episode of Positioned to Prosper I’m bringing you a live recording of a message I shared at my home church, REVIVE Church of Tampa (revivetampa.org) to kick off a monthly series we’re doing called, The Truth About Health & Healing.  The message is called, The Healthiest Body on the Face of the Planet.  Now, do you know what that body is? It’s the Body of Christ — The Church! But here’s the question:

With the access we have to the alive and active Word of God, being covered by the blood of Jesus and healed by the stripes he bore for us, and with the Holy Spirit as our Comforter and Leader into all Truth, How is the Church NOT the healthiest body in the world today?

People should be streaming into the House of God — “Isaiah 2 Style” — to learn how to steward health well so they can live long, vibrant, abundant, fruitful lives, but they really aren’t. So, what truth have we been missing in the Church that has allowed us to live subpar to the best Jesus won for us?

These are the things we’re talking about in this episode of PtoP, so if you’re ready to up-level your own health while being an integral part of seeing the Church manifest as the healthiest body on the face of the planet, then I want you to grab your Bible, a journal and a pen, and . . . Let’s Go!

What you will learn in this episode:

  • Why getting into a discipleship environment while you’re learning to steward health is one of the smartest moves you can make;
  • Why we’re going to have to take some time to call out the familiar habits and spirits that have been holding up back in health;
  • The power of going with family on the journey and adventure of transformation;
  • The concept of the triune being — you ARE a spirit, you HAVE a soul and you LIVE IN a body — and why you want to live powered and directed by the Spirit of God;
  • How science is — at best — an exploration and sub-par explanation of how God’s creation works;
  • The answer to the question, “So is this illness or condition my fault?;”
  • A few basic principles around how to approach stewarding health through a purely scriptural lens; and
  • What it really means to live long enough and strong enough to do and be all God created you for.

Scripture References mentioned in this episode:

Genesis 4:7 —
If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is contrary to you, but you must rule over it.

3 John 2 —
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

Matthew 9:12 —
But when he heard it, he said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.”

Ephesians 4:17-24 —
Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity. But that is not the way you learned Christ!— assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

Proverbs 4:20-23 —
My son, be attentive to my words;
incline your ear to my sayings.
Let them not escape from your sight;
keep them within your heart.
For they are life to those who find them,
and healing to all their[b] flesh.
Keep your heart with all vigilance,
for from it flow the springs of life.

1 Peter 2:9 —
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
