Do you follow a budget? Do you want to?
Today on the podcast we’re talking about the importance of having and following a budget and some ways we can make sure that the budget we create and use is based on Biblical principles and godly wisdom. But let me just say, what that actually looks like might surprise you. Hint: There’s risk involved in this brand of budgeting and it’s spelled F.A.I.T.H.
I’m going to be giving you step-by-step instructions for how to get started setting up a customized budget and access to various templates and tools you can use to help you get it done quickly and excellently while mastering this skill set. Sounds good, right?
So, if you know that it’s time to sit down and craft a budget that is realistic (and that you’re really gonna use), grab your journal and a pen . . . Let’s Go!
What you will learn in this episode:
- The balancing point between following a structured budgeting tool and “flowing” in the Spirit when it comes to stewarding your finances;
- A fun little story about “Guardrails vs Sherpa;”
- The “risk” you need to take in your finances and how to build it into your budget;
- How creating and following a budget can be a celebration activity;
- A step-by-step process for creating a realistic budget and suggestions for how to navigate any hurdles you encounter as you put that budget into use.
Scripture References mentioned in this episode:
Galatians 3:23-27 —
Before the coming of this faith, we were held in custody under the law, locked up until the faith that was to come would be revealed. So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian. So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
