If your day is fraught with overwhelm and overly emotional reactions, it might be time to look at your quiet time, Sis (or lack thereof).
I know that might sound like I just got all up in your business real quick, but this is one of the easiest fixes when we find ourselves stuck in patterns that don’t serve: Spending QT with Jesus consistently. If you’ve been feeling like life is way harder than it should be, check your quiet time.
- Are you spending time with Jesus on the daily?
- Are you having time with Him first thing in the morning?
- Are you staying focused on the convo you’re having with Him?
Most times when I get into a conversation with someone about this topic, they will say to me, “Erica, I want to have a quiet time every day, but I find that I don’t have enough time for it.” Listen, friend — it’s quality over quantity. Most folks who say this to me are saying it because they’re trying to find a spot to do a two-hour deep dive or lay on the floor and soak in Jesus until their adrenals wake back up. But what if I told you that you could have a life changing experience if you simply set 30 minutes aside, first thing in the morning, to hang with Jesus? Would you do it?
In this episode of the Positioned to Prosper podcast, I’m sharing the five components of an effective, 30-minute quiet time. I’ve been doing this routine for over a decade and I’m telling you — It will fix your days. Seriously. So, if you’re ready to make the commitment to a daily, 30-minute, first-thing-in-the-morning quiet time and want to learn about how to get it done excellently, grab your Bible, a journal and a pen, and . . . Scripture References Mentioned in This Episode:
Matthew 6:9-13
Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.”
Matthew 6:33-34
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
