#18: Why You Keep Starting Over In Your Business (And The Decision You Haven’t Made Yet)

February 7, 2026

YOU DON’T HAVE A STRATEGY PROBLEM, SIS. YOU HAVE AN IDENTITY DECISION YOU HAVEN’T MADE YET.

If you’ve been building your online business… but your pace keeps looking like start / stop / start / stop

If you keep strategy-switching, tweaking, rebranding, re-positioning, re-starting… and calling it “up-leveling”…

If you keep telling yourself, “I’ll move when I feel more confident,” but somehow confidence never comes…

Sister, this episode is for you.

Because what I’ve seen (again and again) is that a lot of Kingdom women aren’t stuck because they’re lazy or don’t want to do the work.

They’re stuck because they haven’t made the one decision that stabilizes everything: To agree with who God says you are in this business… and build from that place.

In Episode 18 of the Jesus Girl Gang Kingdom Business Podcast, I’m breaking down why you keep starting over, and how to finally get out of the cycle by making 3 convictions that will change how you build forever:

This is who I am.
This is how I serve.
This is who I serve.

When those 3 things aren’t settled, nothing else can stay settled either.

What This Episode Covers (All Fire, No Fluff)

Inside Episode 18, we talk about why confidence isn’t the missing ingredient you think it is — and why no strategy will ever “make you feel ready” if you haven’t agreed with your identity first.

Here’s what we cover:

✅ Why “starting over” often looks like constant tweaking (even when your business technically looks the same).
✅ How strategy switching becomes a symptom of not being settled.
✅ Why “safe” business decisions can become soul-draining (even if they make money).
✅ The difference between being wise… and building something that becomes your Ishmael.
✅ Why identity is chosen before it’s confirmed (and how Scripture proves it).
✅ The 3 convictions that make every business decision easier moving forward:

  • who I am
  • how I serve
  • who I serve

✅Why consistency for 60–90 days is how you gather real data (instead of panicking and pivoting).
✅The truth about tools, systems, and “going all in” from the beginning.

The Real Reason You Keep Starting Over

Let’s be honest…

A lot of “starting over” doesn’t look like you burning your business down. It looks like:

  • Changing your offer every few weeks.
  • Switching platforms constantly.
  • Buying another workshop so you feel productive.
  • “Reworking your messaging” again.
  • Tweaking your audience… again.
  • Starting a new podcast… then abandoning it.
  • Going quiet… then reappearing with a new idea.

And underneath all of it is usually this: You aren’t settled on who you are in this.

So everything around you stays provisional. You keep changing the external pieces hoping something will finally make you feel confident.

But here’s the truth: There is no strategy that can give you confidence. Confidence comes from decision — and then obedience quickly following.

The “Safe Play” Can Become the Thing That Undoes You

One of the most sobering things I shared in the episode is this:

Sometimes what feels like “wisdom” is actually you choosing what you feel safest doing… not what God actually told you to build.

I used my own story to show this. I built for years as a certified holistic health coach. It “worked” on paper. I grew an audience. I served families. I built programs. I had momentum.

But if I’m honest? I wasn’t fully alive in it. Because underneath it all, I knew what I really wanted to do: Coach Kingdom women to get their sound out into the world.

Business. Ministry. Message. Offers. Audience. Systems. Launches. All of it.

Just like in science — you don’t get full understanding from the lecture alone… And what kept me from pivoting sooner wasn’t a lack of intelligence. It was fear

Fear of not being “enough.”  Fear I needed more proof.  Fear I needed more results.  Fear I wasn’t “the girl for the job.

So I stayed in the “safe” lane. And friend… safe doesn’t always mean aligned

Sometimes the safe play becomes:

  • your burnout.
  • your anxiety.
  • your stuck place.
  • your “I can’t exit this now” business.

And I’ve watched women get trapped doing the thing that pays… while their soul quietly dies. You do not want that.

Biblical Truth: Identity Is Chosen Before It’s Confirmed

This is one of the key truths of the episode: Identity is agreed with before it’s confirmed. You have to say yes to what God said… before you have evidence.

We see this pattern everywhere:

  • Moses had no resume — and God still called him deliverer. Moses gave excuse after excuse (five of them), and Scripture says God’s anger burned because God wasn’t negotiating Moses’ identity.
  • Gideon was hiding in a winepress, and the angel calls him “mighty man of valor.” Gideon didn’t feel like that — but heaven named him anyway.
  • The lepers were healed as they went to show themselves to the priest.
  • Noah had zero social proof. If Noah waited until people clapped for his idea, none of us would be here.

You cannot wait for confirmation before obedience if obedience is the very path God uses to confirm you.

And I said it plainly in the episode: Sometimes you’re not waiting on God. God is waiting on you. I also referenced these anchors:

  • James 1:8 — “A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.”
  • That instability shows up as start/stop behavior, constant switching, and never fully building anything.
  • Zechariah 4:10 — don’t despise small beginnings. God loves to see the work begin.
  • Ephesians 2:10 — God prepared works for you long before you were born. Your calling leaves clues.
  • Acts 18:9–10 — “Do not be silent; keep speaking.” If God told you to build, your job is not to shrink.

The 3 Decisions That Stop the Starting Over

Here’s the simplifying truth that changes everything: If you make these 3 decisions with conviction, business gets clearer fast:

1) This is who I am.

Not who I’m pretending to be.
Not who I feel safest being.
Who God says I am — and who I’m choosing to agree with.

2) This is how I serve.

How you deliver transformation.
How you lead.
Your method. Your framework. Your lane.

3) This is who I serve.

Not everyone.
Not “whoever says yes.”
Not the audience you accidentally collected.
The person you’re actually called to.

When those three things are decided, you stop spinning because now you have non-negotiables. And now, every decision becomes easier:

  • This strategy fits or it doesn’t.
  • This tool supports or it doesn’t.
  • This platform is aligned or it’s not.
  • This offer matches the call or it doesn’t.

You stop hunting for confidence. Because you’re building from conviction

How Confirmation Actually Comes (And Why Consistency Matters)

I shared a real example in the episode of a woman in mentorship who stayed consistent with her low-ticket offer for 90 days. It didn’t explode overnight. But she did something powerful:

She gathered data. She stayed in conversation with her people. She didn’t quit. She didn’t spiral. She didn’t throw everything out. Then she came to me and said, “I think I need to tweak the offer.”

That’s wisdom. Because she didn’t question her identity. She evaluated her execution. That’s what stable builders do. And this is why I teach consistency for 60–90 days

Not because you should be rigid — but because you need a real feedback loop. You can’t measure what you keep changing.

🎯 This Week’s Activation Step

Grab your KBP notebook and spend 10 minutes with this journaling question: “Where am I waiting to feel confident instead of deciding who I am?”

As you journal, look for:

  • Where you keep restarting.
  • Where you keep switching.
  • Where you quietly quit and call it “wisdom”.
  • What part of this feels scary — and why.

Then write down:

  • Who does God say I am in this business/ministry?
  • What’s one small action I can take this week that steps me into that identity?

A few examples (based on what I shared in the episode):

  • Commit to your current strategy for 60–90 days instead of switching again.
  • Make the decision to get the right platform/tools so you can build cleanly (instead of patching free tools together and living in tech chaos)
  • Choose one aligned action that says: “I’m in this for real.”
