Have you ever noticed that progress doesn’t always follow a straight line?
And yet, all of humanity is taught how to plan for progress in a linear fashion. Start with the desired outcome. Now figure out what steps need to happen in order for you to arrive at said outcome, and then put them all in order. Maybe now you add a time estimate for completing each step, and you then you figure out how long the process will take overall. Now you put it all in your calendar and get to work!
But then, inevitably, something doesn’t work according to the plan. Maybe one step takes longer than expected or another part doesn’t work out the way you thought it would. You find yourself “off on a tangent” and, if you’re like me, maybe you start to blame yourself for getting “lost” on what was supposed to be a simple journey from point A to point B. Have you ever been here?
It can feel even worse if the project you’re working on involves a God-promise. When we’re working towards something we *know* we heard God say was up ahead for us, we can tend to get more overwhelmed and stressed out because, well — “God SAID!”
So how do we navigate the journey of pursuing a promise without losing hope or getting stuck (or quitting) along the way? That’s what we’re getting into on this episode of the Positioned to Prosper podcast. If you’re ready to ditch the worldly mindsets that are overwhelming you and delaying your arrival so you can pick up the cadence of heaven for the pursuit of purpose in the Kingdom instead, this is your episode. Grab your Bible, your journal and a pen, and . . . Let’s Go!

We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.
Jeremiah 10:23 (NLT)
I know, Lord, that our lives are not our own. We are not able to plan our own course.
Proverbs 20:24 (NLT)

Isaiah 55:9-11 (NLT)
For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. “The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.
Mark 5:21-24; 35-36 (NLT)
Jesus got into the boat again and went back to the other side of the lake, where a large crowd gathered around him on the shore. Then a leader of the local synagogue, whose name was Jairus, arrived. When he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet, pleading fervently with him. “My little daughter is dying,” he said. “Please come and lay your hands on her; heal her so she can live.” Jesus went with him . . . While he was still speaking to her, messengers arrived from the home of Jairus, the leader of the synagogue. They told him, “Your daughter is dead. There’s no use troubling the Teacher now.” But Jesus overheard them and said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid. Just have faith.”
2 Corinthians 5:7
For we walk by faith, not by sight.
Habakkuk 2:2-4
Then the Lord said to me, “Write my answer plainly on tablets, so that a runner can carry the correct message to others. This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed. “Look at the proud! They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked. But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God.
Isaiah 7:9 (KJV)
If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established.
John 14:1-6
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
